Kentucky Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf

Dear Fellow Interpreters,

There are so many good things going on in KY in 2016!  The KyRID Spring Conference this March will be a first for us and our members because as a benefit to being a member of KyRID, the Spring Conference is free for you!  Non-members are welcome as well and can attend for a cost of $45 which includes the conference and KyRID membership!

We have the RID Region III Conference this summer in Louisville.  In Lexington this fall, KY is hosting the CIT Conference!  Lots of opportunities in 2016 for interpreters in Kentucky!

Our aim for the spring conference is to provide a free workshop where interpreters in KY can get their Ethics hours required for licensure.  We also need to have elections for the new board offices for the next term and take care of some business.

With our fall conference and spring conference, interpreters will have had the opportunity this year to earn 12 out of the required 15 hours needed for a full license and 12 out of the 18 hours needed for a temporary license. We want to make it affordable for the interpreters in KY to be able to attend the spring
conference and hopefully save some dimes and pennies to attend the RID Region III Conference in Louisville on July 28-31 at the Galt House.   The last time RID Region III was held in KY was in 2000!  Visit the conference website at www.region3conference2016.com .

We appreciate your support of KyRID and looking to us for your continuing education hours.  The demands on our time and energy are pretty significant this year with the fall and spring conference, elections, and the upcoming RID Region III Conference which is on our heels!  If you want to join on the bandwagon and be a part of the planning, there is still time!  I hope to see
you on March 19th in Bowling Green for our Spring Conference and business meeting with elections!

Sincerely,

Artie Grassman

President, KyRID
